8 September 2026 – The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), through its Digital Transformation Committee, organized an awareness workshop today, Tuesday, titled “Digital Culture and Its Impact on Developing the Work Environment.” The workshop was held as part of Digital Empowerment Month, which the Ministry is implementing to raise awareness of digital transformation concepts and strengthen its culture in the workplace.
Engineer Sarah Badran of the Digital Transformation Unit at the Prime Ministry and Engineer Bilal Bani Hani of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship presented the workshop’s key topics. These addressed the importance of digital culture and its role in supporting digital transformation efforts and developing the work environment in the public sector.
During her session, Engineer Badran explained the concept of digital change management and the importance of keeping pace with changes to digital systems, tools, and platforms, in a way that contributes to continuing the digital transformation journey in the public sector and achieving its objectives efficiently and sustainably.
She noted that digital transformation may encounter some forms of resistance to change, requiring intensified awareness-raising and communication efforts and clarification of the importance of digital transformation and its positive impact on the work environment and the quality of services. She explained that the reasons for not adopting digital transformation may be behavioral, cognitive, or structural, which calls for addressing them through integrated awareness and development programs.
For his part, Engineer Bani Hani presented the concepts of digital transformation governance and its role in improving, simplifying, and facilitating procedures for delivering government services by providing the essential enablers needed to support digital transformation and enhance the efficiency of government institutions.
He noted that Jordan is considered one of the region’s advanced countries in digital transformation. He added that approximately 2,400 government services are expected to be digitized by the end of this year, reflecting the progress the Kingdom has made in digital transformation and the development of government services.
The workshop saw broad engagement from Ministry employees through questions, contributions, and discussions that enriched its topics and enabled the exchange of experience and knowledge on ways to strengthen digital culture and keep pace with the requirements of digital transformation in the workplace.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Engineer Naima Abu Shama, Chair of the Ministry’s Digital Transformation Committee, honored Engineer Sarah Badran and Engineer Bilal Bani Hani in recognition of their participation and efforts in presenting the workshop topics and enriching the discussion on digital transformation and digital culture.
