3 September 2026 – The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, and the President of the Jordan Engineers Association, Engineer Abdullah Asem Ghousheh, signed today, Thursday, the second phase of the agreement for the "Faz'at Ahl" initiative with the Jordan Engineers Association, aimed at supporting the installation of solar heater systems for the homes of families benefiting from projects to restore and rehabilitate the homes of lower-income families.
Al-Kharabsheh said during the signing ceremony that under the second phase of the agreement, about 300 solar heaters will be installed for 300 homes, at a total cost of up to 150 thousand dinars, in cooperation between the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund and the Jordan Engineers Association, within the framework of responsibility and community service and support for beneficiary families.
Al-Kharabsheh affirmed that the initiative represents a practical model for directing support to its beneficiaries, noting that its impact is not limited to the social aspect, but extends to serve national goals in expanding the use of renewable energy systems, and contributing to reducing energy costs and the electricity bill for citizens, noting the importance of partnership with national institutions and professional associations in implementing initiatives that combine the developmental and social dimension, and provide sustainable solutions that contribute to improving the living conditions of beneficiary families.
The President of the Jordan Engineers Association, Engineer Abdullah Asem Ghousheh, said that the agreement combines three values we cherish: clean energy, social responsibility, and engineering expertise, and is more than just a cooperation agreement between two institutions; because it places energy at the heart of social responsibility, and places social responsibility in the service of man, noting that through this agreement, the Association cooperates with the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Promotion Fund to support the installation of solar heater systems in homes being restored within the "Faz'at Ahl" initiative launched by the Jordan Engineers Association years ago and which has served hundreds of homes and poor families in the homeland.
He pointed out that the joint cooperation between the Association and various government institutions such as the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Promotion Fund is considered a model for what can be achieved when government expertise integrates with professional expertise, and national policies turn into tangible projects that reach the citizen directly.
For his part, the Executive Director of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund, Rami Hamza, affirmed the Fund's continued cooperation with the Jordan Engineers Association, as a house of expertise in engineering fields, noting that the agreement comes within the framework of the Fund's keenness to enhance partnership with national institutions and community initiatives and expand the scope of benefiting from renewable energy solutions.
He explained that the initiative contributes to alleviating the burden of energy costs on beneficiary families, improving energy consumption efficiency, and enhancing reliance on solar energy as a sustainable source, in addition to achieving positive economic and environmental impacts in the long term.
The first phase of the "Faz'at Ahl" initiative witnessed the support and installation of 311 solar heaters for beneficiary homes, at a total cost of about 140 thousand dinars, while the systems that were installed are expected to contribute to achieving savings in the energy bill estimated at about 780 thousand dinars annually, in addition to reducing carbon emissions by about 431 tons annually.
The number of beneficiaries of the first phase reached about 1560 people of various age groups, which reflects the direct impact of the initiative in improving the living conditions of beneficiary families, and providing sustainable solutions to meet their energy needs, combining social support and the transition towards clean energy.
