Ministry of Energy Organizes Awareness Workshops to Promote Energy Efficiency at the Ministry of Health

1 July 2026 – The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), through its Directorate of Energy Efficiency and Climate Change, has launched a series of specialized awareness workshops targeting employees of the Ministry of Health. The initiative is being implemented in coordination and cooperation with the German Energy Academy in Jordan and with the support of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). It forms part of the National Energy Efficiency Capacity Building Campaign and reflects MEMR’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of energy conservation across the public sector.

Eng. Lina Mubaideen, Director of the Directorate of Energy Efficiency and Climate Change at MEMR, stated that these workshops are part of the national efforts to raise awareness of energy efficiency concepts and encourage responsible energy consumption practices within government institutions. She noted that the initiative supports the objectives of the National Energy Strategy and the Government's plans to improve resource efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Mubaideen explained that the National Energy Efficiency Capacity Building Program aims to bring about a positive and sustainable transformation in energy consumption patterns within government workplaces by promoting best behavioral and technical practices that contribute to achieving tangible energy savings.

For his part, Eng. Mohammad Juaidi, Project Director of the German Energy Academy in Jordan, said that the Academy, in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), is working to support capacity-building projects and programs in the energy and water sectors. He emphasized the importance of engaging employees in energy conservation efforts and fostering a culture of individual responsibility toward efficient energy use.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ayman Al-Bataineh, Training Director at the German Energy Academy in Jordan at the German Jordanian University, highlighted that training and awareness programs serve as an effective tool for enhancing the competencies of human resources and strengthening their capabilities in the fields of energy management and energy efficiency. He noted that these efforts contribute positively to the performance of government institutions and the sustainability of their resources.

The workshops include interactive technical sessions covering key energy efficiency concepts and best practices for government buildings, in addition to practical behavioral and technical measures that help reduce energy consumption and achieve sustainable savings.
