The Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility Committee at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources conducted a clean-up campaign today, Wednesday, in the Wadi Al-Hidan area at the estuary of Wadi Al-Wala. A number of ministry employees participated in the campaign, which is part of the ministry's efforts to promote social responsibility, instill a culture of volunteerism, and preserve the environment, natural sites and tourist areas in the Kingdom.
The campaign included collecting waste from the area, aiming to preserve the environment and enhance the cleanliness of tourist and natural sites. This has a direct impact on raising environmental awareness among citizens and encouraging them to maintain the cleanliness of the public places they frequent.
The head of the committee, geologist Bahjat Al-Edwan, emphasized the importance of continuing to implement environmental and volunteer initiatives that contribute to raise environmental awareness among members of society. He pointed out that preserving the environment is a collective responsibility that requires concerted efforts and the promotion of positive behaviors towards natural resources and tourist sites.
Al-Edwan urged participants to share this positive culture with their families and social circles, contributing to the consolidation of environmental awareness, the promotion of sound environmental practices, and the preservation of the natural beauty of sites across the Kingdom.
This campaign is part of a series of activities and initiatives implemented by the Ministry to support the Sustainable Development Goals and enhance community participation in protecting the environment and preserving natural resources for future generations.
