Al-Kharabsheh Discusses Proposed Amendments to the Natural Resources Law with the Private Sector

2 December 2025 – The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, chaired today, Tuesday, a meeting of the Partnership Council in the mining sector with private sector representatives to discuss the main proposed amendments to the amended Natural Resources Law, aimed at enhancing the investment environment in Jordan mining sector.

During the meeting, Al-Kharabsheh emphasized that the new amendments to the law are intended to facilitate investment in the mining sector and provide broader incentives for investors.

The meeting comes within the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to review the legislation regulating the natural resources sector, in line with global best practices. The amendments are expected to support existing projects, attract future investments, enhance procedural clarity, and calculate technical costs of mining projects linked to production contracts, thereby promoting economic growth and empowering the sector in the Kingdom.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources had previously prepared a draft amended Natural Resources Law and sent it to relevant government and private entities for their legal and technical feedback, ensuring the amendments are comprehensive and aligned with sector needs and investor requirements.

The meeting also continues the Ministry’s efforts to review the legislation governing the natural resources sector and to strengthen an investment-friendly environment in mining, consistent with the economic modernization vision.
