Mafraq – November 11, 2025
The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources concluded today, Tuesday, the “Green Finance” training course—one of a series of training programs offered to municipality employees in Mafraq Governorate as part of the Solar Energy Systems Installation Project for municipalities, funded by the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund.
The course was held at the headquarters of the Greater Mafraq Municipality, as part of a comprehensive training program covering green finance, project management, and communication skills. The program targets around 500 employees over a six-month period, with the aim of strengthening their capabilities in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
The Executive Director of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Rasmi Hamzeh, reviewed the progress of the course, emphasizing the importance of this training program as one of the core components of the Fund’s projects. He noted that it aims to build the institutional and technical capacities of employees in the municipal sector and enable them to manage energy projects efficiently and sustainably.
During his visit, Dr. Hamzeh received a briefing on the course’s implementation mechanism and training content. He also engaged in discussions with participants about the program’s impact on developing their skills and deepening their understanding of sustainable solutions in energy project management.
Dr. Hamzeh affirmed that the program is part of the Fund’s efforts to ensure the sustainability of the photovoltaic solar systems that will be installed on the rooftops of the targeted municipal buildings. He added that the systems will contribute to reducing energy costs, lowering carbon emissions, enhancing local development, and creating new job opportunities in the energy sector.
The training program aims to enhance the efficiency of municipal employees in renewable energy and energy efficiency through a series of specialized courses implemented in cooperation with Green Tech for Sustainable Development.
