Mafraq – November 10, 2025
The Musawa Center for Civil Society Development in Mafraq Governorate, in cooperation with the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, organized a dialogue session entitled “The Reality and Prospects of Developing the Renewable Energy Sector in Mafraq Governorate.” The session was chaired by Senator Dr. Mustafa Al-Hamarna.
The Executive Director of the Renewable Energy Fund, Rasmi Hamza, emphasized the Fund’s commitment to support local communities through its programs and services. He noted the implementation of studies and training workshops targeting young people in the governorates to equip them with the necessary skills to work in the renewable energy sector, thus contributing to reduce unemployment and enhance job opportunities.
Hamza stressed the importance of integrating efforts between official and non-governmental entities to develop the renewable energy sector, achieve sustainable development, and support economic and social stability in the Kingdom.
For his part, Al-Hamarna affirmed that the Energy Efficiency Fund represents a national umbrella for serving and empowering local communities and promoting the concept of sustainable development. He commended the Fund’s efforts in consolidating partnerships between government institutions and civil society organizations to support the transition to clean energy in Mafraq Governorate.
The session was attended by a group of academics and specialists in the field of renewable energy, representatives from the Ministry of Culture, and a number of heads of associations working in the sector.
