The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEEF) at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources concluded today, Tuesday, the Green Finance training course, which comes as part of a series of training programs directed at municipal employees in the northern governorates, and stemming from the Solar Energy Systems Installation Project for municipalities, funded by the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security and the Renewable Energy Fund.
The course was launched at the headquarters of Greater Irbid Municipality, within a comprehensive training program that includes (Green Finance, Project Management, and Communication), targeting 500 municipal employees over a period of six months, with the aim of enhancing their capacities in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
The Fund’s Executive Director, Dr. Rasmi Hamzeh, emphasized that this training comes to ensure the sustainability of the photovoltaic solar systems that will be installed on the rooftops of the targeted municipalities’ buildings, contributing to reducing energy bills and cutting carbon emissions.
He pointed out that the course aims to raise awareness of the importance of renewable energy and to provide municipal employees with the technical and economic knowledge related to energy efficiency and sustainable environmental solutions, in addition to promoting local development and creating new job opportunities in the energy sector.
Hamzeh explained that this course is part of the first package of the municipality employee training program, praising the efforts of Green Tech Company in preparing high-quality training material that contributes to enhancing participants’ efficiency and developing their performance in line with municipal work needs.
At the conclusion of the course, participation certificates were handed to municipal employees by the Fund’s Executive Director, Dr. Rasmi Hamzeh, and the Assistant President for Planning and Licensing Affairs, Eng. Hanaa Younes, in appreciation of their efforts and active participation in the training program.
On the sidelines of the event, a meeting was held between the Executive Director of the Renewable Energy Fund, Rasmi Hamzeh, and the Deputy Mayor of Greater Irbid Municipality, Imad Al-Naddaf, during which ways to enhance cooperation between the Fund and the municipality were discussed in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and local development, as well as opening new horizons for developing joint projects that contribute to achieving sustainable development at the local level.
