“Kharabsheh Affirms Jordan’s Readiness to Supply Lebanon with Electricity and Natural Gas Once Other Parties Are Fully Prepared”

October 15, 2025 – Jordan’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, affirmed today, Wednesday, during his meeting with Lebanese Minister of Energy Joseph Al-Saddi, the deep historical ties between Jordan and Lebanon. He highlighted the Royal directives to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of electrical interconnection and natural gas supply.
Dr. Al-Kharabsheh emphasized Jordan’s readiness to provide Lebanon with part of its electricity needs once the other concerned parties have completed their preparations, noting that the interconnection lines on the Jordanian side are fully operational and ready.
The two ministers also discussed the possibility of supplying natural gas to Lebanon through the Arab Gas Pipeline, as part of efforts to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by the Ministry’s Secretary General, Engineer Amani Al-Azzam, and the Director General of the National Electric Power Company, Engineer Sufyan Bataineh.
