2 August 2026 – The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources launched today, Sunday, a specialized seven-day training workshop on the use of the TIMES software, aimed at strengthening national capacities in energy modelling and future scenario analysis to support the development of evidence-based policies and strategic plans.

The workshop is funded by the European Union under the Technical Assistance Project for the Circular Economy Programme. It forms part of the Ministry's efforts to enhance planning and analytical tools in the energy sector and strengthen the capabilities of national professionals in using advanced modelling techniques to assess energy alternatives and scenarios, thereby improving the quality of planning and supporting informed decision-making.

The workshop is in line with the Ministry's commitment to developing institutional capacities and national competencies, while strengthening cooperation with international partners. These efforts contribute to achieving the objectives of the energy sector and supporting the transition towards a more efficient and sustainable energy system, in alignment with the goals of the Economic Modernization Vision.
