Al-Kharabsheh: Fils Al-Reef Supplied Electricity to 161 Homes and Sites at a Cost of JOD 580,000 in December 2025

 

January 11, 2026 – The Higher Steering Committee of Fils Al-Reef, during a meeting chaired by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, approved the lists of homes and sites benefiting from connection to the electricity grid through conventional networks. The total number reached 161 homes and sites, at an overall cost of JOD 580,000.

In a press statement, Dr. Al-Kharabsheh said that the Committee approved a number of projects and sites that will be supplied with electricity at the expense of Fils Al-Reef, including residential communities and economic activities, following the expansion of the service under the amendments introduced to the electricity connection criteria for December.

For his part, the Director of the Electricity and Rural Electrification Directorate at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Engineer Hisham Al-Momani, presented the details of the decisions, explaining that they include residential communities consisting of five houses outside the regulatory boundaries, at a total cost of JOD 184,000.

In addition, the decisions also covered communities consisting of a minimum of three houses outside regulatory boundaries at a cost of JOD 74,000, as well as individual houses outside regulatory boundaries connected to existing networks, at a cost of JOD 41,000.

Al-Momani indicated that the list approved by the Higher Committee included homes of underprivileged families within regulatory boundaries in electricity companies’ concession areas, at a total cost of JOD 1,000, within the framework of supporting underprivileged families with limited income

 The support package also covered poultry, cattle, sheep and fish farms in poverty-pocket areas, outside regulatory boundaries, with the total value of projected implemented at the expense of Fils AL- Reef fund JOD 28,000. Reflecting the ministry’s commitment to supporting farmers, encouraging livestock production, and promoting self-reliance.

The approved categories included lighting the roads leading to cemeteries at a cost of 10,000 dinars, in order to facilitate citizens during the burial of their deceased at night.

Fils Al-Reef further supported productive, industrial and investment projects located in poverty pockets outside regulatory boundaries, provided they create job opportunities for Jordanians from local communities, with a total contribution of JOD 153,000.

Al Momani continued his statement, explaining that the targeted categories also included farms with artesian wells outside regulatory boundaries, at a cost of JOD 12,000, in support of farmers, to advance the agricultural sector, and to contribute to achieving food security.

 Fils Al- Reef Also contributed to provide electricity to government projects and agricultural and charitable cooperative associations at total cost of JOD34, 000.

Regarding  the exploitation  the  alternative energy, Fils Al-Reef approved the installation of grid-connected solar PV systems for 21 homes belonging to underprivileged  families and National Aid Fund beneficiaries to reduce their monthly energy bills which is indirectly contributes to improving the income and living standards of this group.

An off-grid solar system was also installed for one underprivileged family’s house located outside the regulatory boundaries and far from the electrical grid, at a cost of JOD 4,000 in addition to a solar-powered water-pumping system for one artesian well at a cost of JOD 12,000.
