‎ The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, represented by the Directorate of Natural Resources Studies, participated in the activities of the "International Ferroalloys Conference FerroalloyNet" that was held in the Chengdu region of Xi'an Province in China, which brought together specialized international companies to discuss the most prominent minerals used in the manufacture of iron alloys.

‎The participants  from the Ministry Geologist Ali Al-Samadi and Engineer Amin Al-Ghandour reviewed  the most important of these minerals such as manganese, zinc, and zirconium used in industry.

‎ The importance of basalt and silica ores in the manufacture of optical fibers was highlighted, and many companies expressed their interest in the two ores as open investment opportunities in the Kingdom.
