
August 13, 2024 - The head of the Jordanian Seismic Observatory, Eng. Ghassan Sweidan: The northern region of Syria was hit by an aftershock, today, Tuesday, with a magnitude of 3.9 on the Richter scale, at exactly 12:30 am Amman time, and at a depth of 10 km.
The same region was hit by two earthquakes on Monday evening, the first recorded at exactly 9:30 pm Amman time and with a magnitude of 3.9 on the Richter scale, followed by an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale, at a depth of 10 km, at exactly 11:55 pm.
Sweidan confirmed that the major earthquake felt by residents of the north of the Kingdom occurred at a shallow depth and is considered a felt earthquake, but its epicenter is far away, and is not worrisome to Jordanians, wishing safety for all.
