Potash Reserves Exploration in Lisan Area

Potash Reserves Exploration in Lisan Area

The Government of Jordan (GoJ), through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) and the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC), is interested in exploring the potential of developing the potash reserves in the Lisan Area in the Dead Sea region in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

To that effect, the Government wishes to invite world-class potash developers to explore the potential opportunity of developing the reserves in the mentioned area.

Selected qualified developers will enter into a Memo of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Jordan to allow the exploration of the reserves in the area. After the exploration period, and based on the findings of the studies, the Government  may  request the developers to submit technical and financial offers for mining in the area.

The exploration period is not to exceed 24 months. All studies are to be delivered to MEMR at no cost and MEMR will have the right to use the studies as it sees fit. The Government does not make any commitment to grant mining rights and may elect to suspend or terminate the exploration phase at its sole discretion.
