Ministry of Energy launches a tender to purchase crude oil transportation services

October 21, 2024 - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced today, Monday, the launch of a tender to purchase crude oil transportation services according to the specifications and conditions contained in the tender invitation.

The ministry called on bidders wishing to apply for the tender to visit the tenders department in the ministry to obtain a copy of the tender invitation documents, bringing with them a license to practice the business of transporting crude oil and its derivatives by tankers on the road, provided that it is valid throughout the tender implementation period, issued by the Land Transport Regulatory Authority and classified within the first category, and a valid professional license and commercial register must be brought to obtain a sealed copy of the tender invitation documents.

The Ministry began selling copies of the tender through the website https://www.memr.gov.jo/ starting from Monday, October 21, 2024, until Monday, October 28, 2024, and the last date for submitting offers is noon on Monday, November 11, 2024, while the Ministry set the last date for receiving inquiries via email Hana.AlZuabi@MEMR.GOV.JO as Thursday, October 31, 2024.

The Ministry explained that the submitted price offer must be accompanied by bid entry insurance in the form of a bank guarantee or a certified check issued by a local bank in the amount of 300,000 dinars, and it remains valid for 6 months from the date specified as the last date for submitting offers.

The Ministry indicated that the technical and financial offers are submitted in two separate sealed envelopes, then placed in one envelope on which the name of the bidder and the bid number are written, and the cost of a copy of the tender is 2,500 dinars, non-refundable.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is responsible for transporting crude oil from the loading site in the Republic of Iraq to the Jordan Petroleum Refinery site in Zarqa, in implementation of the extension of the Memorandum of Understanding for the preparation and supply of crude oil from the Republic of Iraq to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which was signed in July of this year until June 26, 2025.
