February 18, 2025 – The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Engineer Amani Al-Azzam, participated today, Tuesday, in the 24th meeting of the Regional Council for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, held for the first time in Kuwait over two days, February 18-19, with the presence of representatives from several Arab countries.

The meeting, opened by the Kuwaiti Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Dr. Mahmoud Boushahri, discusses renewable energy, specifically the integration of traditional and renewable energy sources to reach 30-50% of total production.

It also addresses energy efficiency in buildings and productive economic institutions, including the residential, private, investment, commercial, industrial, and agricultural sectors, aiming to rationalize consumption to preserve this essential resource.

Additionally, the meeting discusses direct investment in renewable energy, the localization of modern technology, and the training and qualification of professionals in this field.

The meeting is expected to conclude with actionable decisions and policies that can be applicable in practice.
