Amman, July 1, 2025 – The Integrity Caravan visited the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources today, Wednesday, as part of the second cycle of the National Integrity Index 2024–2025. The index is implemented by the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission in partnership with Rased – Al Hayat Center to assess the extent to which government institutions adhere to national integrity standards.
The caravan delegation met with the Ministry’s Secretary-General, Amani Al-Azzam, in the presence of the Ministry’s Integrity and Transparency Team. The meeting focused on discussing mechanisms for conducting the national index survey and ways to support national efforts to promote integrity and transparency within the government work environment.
Al-Azzam affirmed the Ministry’s full cooperation with the caravan team and its commitment to facilitating the implementation of the survey. She emphasized the importance of this national initiative in fostering a culture of integrity within institutions and improving the quality of performance and services provided to citizens.
For his part, Abdel Halim Al-Abadi, Director of the Ministry’s Internal Control Unit, stressed the Ministry’s commitment to upholding the values of integrity, transparency, and good governance in all work procedures. This commitment aligns with the Royal Vision and aims to develop strategies that raise awareness about the importance of integrity, establish mechanisms to ensure transparency and accountability, activate effective management systems, and adopt precise standards for performance measurement and continuous evaluation to achieve the targeted goals.
The caravan team presented an overview of the National Integrity Index mechanism, which bases 40% of its assessment on surveys conducted with institutional employees and service recipients through both in-person and electronic formats. The goal is to identify strengths and areas for improvement within the work environment and enhance institutional performance.
This visit is part of a series of field visits targeting 119 government entities. The objective is to guide state institutions toward adopting national integrity standards, measure their compliance, and evaluate their ability to provide a fair and transparent institutional environment that contributes to sustainable development and strengthens public trust in government institutions.
