The Ministry of Energy and the Amman Arab University sign a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and rationalization of consumption

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh AL-Kharabsheh, and the President of the Amman Arab University, Dr. Mohammad Al-Widyan, signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday in the fields of energy policies, renewable energy, and rationalization of energy consumption. The memorandum aims to enhance joint cooperation between the two parties, contributing to national efforts to achieve sustainable development in the Kingdom.

During the signing ceremony, AL-Kharabsheh emphasized the importance of scientific research in developing energy sector projects, noting the need to establish a national energy research center and a specialized national laboratory to support research and scientific efforts in this field.

He emphasized that scientific research represents a fundamental pillar in finding innovative solutions to future challenges and contributing to support transition to green energy plans and produce energy with higher efficiency and lower costs, while preserving the environment.

For his part, Al-Wadiyan emphasized that the signing of the agreement aligns with the university's efforts to strengthen its national partnerships that support sustainable development in Jordan. He noted that this cooperation enhances the role of the university's Renewable Energy Engineering Department, which has become an active member of the American Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). This reflects the university's commitment to develop academic programs and link them to practical and modern technological applications in the fields of renewable energy and resource efficiency.

The memorandum stipulates the exchange of expertise and knowledge between the two parties in the fields of scientific and applied research related to energy, and the implementation of joint research projects that contribute to the development of innovative solutions in the fields of alternative energy and resource efficiency.

It includes organizing joint seminars and workshops, exchanging scientific and technical data and information in the field of energy, and providing practical training opportunities for faculty members and students at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and partner institutions.

The two parties emphasized that the signing of the memorandum comes within the framework of enhancing integration between academic institutions and the government sector, supporting the implementation of the national energy strategy and enhancing efforts towards the achieving of energy efficiency and expanding the use of renewable sources.
