December 22, 2024 The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, met today with the President of the Contractors' Syndicate, Fouad Al-Duwairi, and representatives from the Jordanian Construction Contractors Syndicate Council to discuss mechanisms for activating public-private partnerships.
During the meeting, Al-Kharabsheh emphasized the government's support for the private sector and its commitment to overcoming obstacles facing the industry. He highlighted the importance of balanced partnerships and cooperation to serve the interests of all parties involved. The Minister underscored the ministry's keen interest in having qualified contractors and capable energy companies implement pioneering energy projects. He also reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to issuing tenders related to renewable energy projects and solar energy systems exclusively to specialized companies that meet the required conditions.
Al-Kharabsheh pointed out that the government supports projects aimed at exporting contracting services abroad, noting the significant opportunities available both within the Kingdom and internationally.
He stressed the importance of achieving competitive standards in exporting contracting services and keeping pace with global market developments.
For his part, the President of the Jordanian Contractors' Syndicate, Fouad Al-Duwairi, stated that the Syndicate’s vision focuses on exporting contracting services across various sectors, particularly energy projects, to foreign markets, especially within Arab countries.
Several members of the Syndicate called for the necessary government support to overcome the challenges facing Jordanian contractors.
