Al-Kharabsheh inspects drilling work in Hamza field Hopefully, preliminary results for Well 18 of the field will appear within weeks

Amman, April 6, 2024 - Today, Saturday, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, carried out an inspection visit to the Hamza field, located east of the Azraq region.

Minister Al-Kharabsheh was briefed on the preparations for inspection and stimulation operations for Well No. 18 in the field, which was completed two months ago.

  It is expected that the initial results of the examinations of the layers hopefully containing oil in the well, which recorded the appearance of oil evidence, will appear within a few weeks, depending on the speed of shipping materials, equipment and machinery from outside Jordan to the work site in the field.

Al-Kharabsheh also visited Well No. 19, which is currently still in the drilling stage and is considered the first well to be drilled horizontally, and it is expected to be completed during the next two months.

  During the visit, Al-Kharabsha met with the workers at the site, appreciating their continued efforts in excavation operations in the difficult weather conditions during the holy month of Ramadan. Al-Kharabsha offered the workers congratulations on the occasion of the approaching Eid Al-Fitr.

The inspection visit to the field comes as a follow-up by the Ministry to the activities which implementing in the field of drilling work within the National Program for Oil and Gas Exploration that the Ministry launched at the beginning of the year 2022, and in line with the vision of economic modernization.

Minister Al-Kharabsheh was accompanied on his visit to the field by the Ministry's Director of Projects, Geologist Bahjat Al-Adwan.
