The program for installing solar PV systems for the residential sector is witnessing an increasing demand from citizens and is nearing completion

Amman, March 19, 2024 - The program to install solar PV systems for the residential sector through banks and associations, with 30% subsidy provided by the Renewable Energy Efficiency  Fund (JREEEF) in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) , witnessed a large turnout from citizens in all governorates of the Kingdom. JREEEF announced, today, Tuesday, that receiving applications for the program through banks and associations has almost ended, due to the increasing demand for the service, and that the quotas allocated for the financing windows for this phase of the program have nearly ended, and some of the financing windows remain, as the Fund is working to accelerate... Procedures for signing agreements with it.

 The Fund attributed the near end of the program in addition to the high demand from citizens, and also to the speed in implementing the procedures by the financing windows and partner agencies, which enabled the Fund to achieve the program’s targeted indicators and limit the budgets allocated to it within record time.

The Fund also announced the start of its procedures to disburse all subsidy requests submitted, amounting to 30% of the cost of the supported systems for requests received from the program’s financing windows that meet the necessary conditions and documents.

The Fund confirmed that it will continue to implement the program in other upcoming stages, which will be announced in due course.

The Fund noted that it is currently continuing to provide the subsidy program for installing the solar water heater through various financing windows, and through the initial inclusion platform https://Solarenergy.gov.jo There is no change to the procedures for providing the service.

The Fund had launched the third phase of the national program to subsidize the residential sector with solar water heater systems and solar PV in December 2023, including providing direct support to Jordanian families in the amount of 30% of the cost solar water heater systems and solar PV, in addition to facilitating the payment of the rest of the amount through Accredited banks and local associations, which contribute to reducing the monthly electricity bill for these families.
