Launching the Excellence Month activities at the Ministry of Energy

May 1, 2024 - Today, Wednesday, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, sponsored the launch of the Excellence Month in the Ministry, whose activities will continue throughout the current month of May.

In his speech during the launch, Al-Kharabsheh stressed the importance of the files managed by the Ministry in the energy and mineral resources sectors, praising the level of improvement and development achieved in the Ministry’s work and alignments through the efforts of its staff and in cooperation with the sector’s partners, which reflects positively on the nation.

   Al-Kharabsheh considered the Month of Excellence an approach that the Ministry has maintained over the past years. The launch coincides with cherished national occasions such as the twenty-fifth anniversary of His Majesty King Abdullah II’s accession to the throne/the silver jubilee, during which the Ministry completed many projects.

Al-Kharabsheh considered the launch of the Excellence Month to be the beginning of the ministry’s journey of excellence, noting its importance in light of the start of the evaluation process of institutions participating in the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency in its ninth session by the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence.

The activities of the Month of Excellence began with holding a series of scientific day lectures for the Jordanian Seismic Observatory, which dealt with introducing the observatory, the seismic situation in Jordan, maintaining the work of the observatory and seismic monitoring stations, observatory services and international cooperation, how earthquakes occur and prevention in emergency situations, and carrying out a visit to the observatory center to see the progress of Work in it.

The launch ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Secretary General of the Ministry, Eng. Amani Al-Azzam, the directors of the organizational units in the Ministry, and representatives of the Jordanian Geologists Association, the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, the Directorate of Civil Defense, the Directorate of Public Security, the Royal Jordanian Geographical Center, the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission, the Engineers Association, And the Ministry of Public Works and Housing.

The Excellence Month activities also included the implementation of an initiative to distribute energy-saving LED bulbs on the occasion of Labor Day to field workers from the nation’s workers in the municipalities of Bireen, Al-Hashimiya, and Zarqa in Zarqa Governorate, with support from the Ministry’s Energy Promotion Fund, in appreciation of the efforts of this group of workers and spreading awareness of the importance of energy conservation.
